Hand Painted Black and Gold Chinoiserie Flat Screen TV Cabinet, Glass Doors

Our hand painted black and gold Chinoiserie flat screen television cabinet was inspired by traditional cabinets on stands. Our adaptation features a shallow set of shelves which allow room to hide a flat screen television. The form is Queen Anne and the whole is hand painted in the Chinoiserie taste.

The upper case features interior lights and is fitted with glass shelves. The scroll termination feet are examples of the details provided by the best cabinetmaker of the period.

Rosewood Chest of Drawers with Antique Gold Gilding and Black Chinoiserie Design

This hand painted black ground and rosewood neoclassic chest of drawers is an adaptation of a late eighteenth century French inspired English antique. The chest is a form of the neoclassic style popular from 1780 to 1830. The hand painted antique gold decoration is derived from Chinese landscape painting and is an applied decoration.

Antique Aubergine Finished Tray Table, Brown and Gold Painted Chinoiserie Decoration

The form of this aubergine ground hand painted tray on stand is Queen Anne. This early eighteenth century style dates to 1720 and displays the classic cabriole leg and pad foot of the period. This had a great appeal when used as an accent in a home during the era.

The finely detailed hand painted decoration is in the Chinoiserie taste and serves to enrich this simple yet elegantly functional table. The removable tray lends added function to this period adaptation.

Rosewood Chiffonier with Antique Gold Gilding and Black Chinoiserie Motif

As with many Chinoiserie items, this Regency chiffonier combines fine English cabinetry with exotic motifs from East Asia. The restrained neoclassic lines are arranged with delicate hand painted antique gold on a classic Chinese black lacquer background.

The Greco-Roman influences are the shape of the chest, the use of fluted pilasters, the spindle turned legs as well as the fielded crotch mahogany paneled doors.

This eclectic chest of drawers is an adaptation of late eighteenth century English and French cabinetry design sensibilities. The compound shape of the case features a breakfront form with modified cabriole legs.

The delicately painted Chinoiserie scenic decoration is hand painted in a warm distressed antique gold against a Chinese red background. The clever use of black ground accents on the legs lends a poise or stance which adds to its visual appeal.
